Here’s something you dont see every day. A real Oppo Special.
A manual, TDI, Beetle, convertible, in root beer brown.
It’s only got 4300 miles on it so I’m guessing it spent some time in a diesel gate parking lot
Still a pretty cool, and very rare combo

I liked it until I saw the price. Almost 22k? No way. I’d get a used miata all day over this.

Seems crack pipe
, even given the 4300 miles. Would have figured it would be sub 15K.

the price is nuts. I get that the miles are low, but still this is a 17,000 dollar car tops.

What is one of those new, though? That’s “new” as far as I’m concerned. Not saying you couldn’t do better for the money, but maybe not in the used Beetle market?

Oooooh, I like this. 22 is high but I’m glad this car exists. I really wish they gave the TDi the fancy multi-link rear suspension that was on the turbo. They did this with the golf but did not carry it over to the bug. SAD!

12 seems fair.

Hmm, well in that context the price is high, for sure.

Interesting little car. It’s not a Miata, and doesn’t pull in the same buyer. The Deacon at my church has that model of convertible Beetle, and it’s a nice ride. You can have four adults fit in it for a short trip, if the front seats are pulled up a bit. The price isn’t out of this world, either. Edmund’s prices it between $20,500 - $25,900 for a manual, TDI Beetle, with limited options and that mileage. A new, base model Beetle starts at about
$26
K and goes up to $30
K or so, and you can’t get a diesel, obviously, and no manual transmission, either. If I was looking for a decent commuter car, and wanted a convertible for those nice, sunny days, you could do a lot worse than this car.

I saw a Dune the other day.

that had to be somebody’s special order... and probably pretty pricey (was the TDI more expensive than the turbo?)

Close your eyes (or gouge them out, same thing) and you’ve got a Porsche 911 Cabrio.

I’ m sorry you had to see that.

It’s fine. It was far enough away and I didn’t point it out to my children.
